Starsailor - Fever

Starsailor's first single. I think that this band are fantastic and this is a great start to thier career. Check the second album out.

'Fever', the band's first single, was released in early 2001. The song, and its two B-Sides 'Love Is Here' and 'Coming Down' were cut from a demo recording session in the Summer of 2000. All three tracks went on to feature on Starsailor's first album 'Love Is Here', but the latter two were re-recorded.

Supergrass - Caught By The Fuzz

"Caught By The Fuzz" was the debut single (not including the two limited edition Backbeat Records releases) of Britpop band Supergrass. It was written around the true-life incident of leadsinger Gaz Coombes being arrested for being caught smoking cannabis in his youth. The single reached #43 in the UK Singles Chart and was only on the chart for two weeks.
It was used as the closing theme tune of the 2007 movie, Hot Fuzz, and features on the official soundtrack.

Kula Shaker - K

This is by far one of my favourate albums ever. Just listen to it and judge for yourself.

The Britpop quartet Kula Shaker appears to have raided the closets of its favourite bands in the making of its debut album. K contains a bluesy, retro ambience very much like The Stone Roses and Primal Scream. The full-throttled guitars sound like those of Oasis. And a hefty dose of Hindu mysticismruns rampant throughout--a la Cornershop.But Kula Shaker manages to make something original of all those borrowed parts. Rising above its influences, Kula Shaker creates a niche of Britpop in which transcendence is the goal. Amidst theblues-drenched guitars and the Hindi chanting, the band is hard at work building something spiritual and sensual. Kula Shaker isn't afraid of a tamboura, using the exotic instrument on several tracks. Nor is it afraid to be linked with theGrateful Dead, eulogising that band in the track "Grateful When You're Dead/Jerry Was There". I am so sorry to you all who downloaded this and found it was the first volume. Here is the second. Again sorry. ;-)

Kula Shaker - Govinda

Govinda was the band's fifth single, released in the UK on 11th November 1996 where it reached #7. Like all the band's first 6 singles, it was reissued in the UK on 28th July 1997 with the same catalogue number as the first release. Govinda was not released as a single in Japan.

I think that this is such an under-rated album please read this review from Amazon.

Quavering Hammond organ? Check. Sixties-throwback guitar riffs? Check. Climbing bass lines? Check. Ecstasy-blessed dreamscape that branded nearly all music coming out of Manchester, England, in the early '90s? Check again. With each new album, the Charlatans peel away the layers of hypnotic haze that enveloped their landmark debut, Some Friendly. Us and Us Only, their sixth studio release, reveals the core of the band's influences with greatest clarity. The opening track, "Forever," lives up to its name, an epic seven-and-a-half-minute free-wheeling tributary of free-association psychedelia. But after that, the jams are lifted nearly verbatim out of the Rolling Stones' proverbial songbook. The reigning "Madchester" champs don roots-rocker hats, as lead singer Tim Burgess occasionally works in his best Bob Dylan impression, the wah-wah gives way to twangy hooks, and piano and harmonica fill out melodies. RIP Lee Hazelwood

I just heard about this so I thought I would upload a few of my favoute albums of his. I loved all of his stuff and for some reason every time I listen to his music I say to myself that I should not like this stuff although it keeps on drawing me in.

I think I first heard of him not too long ago, three years ago on BBC Radio Two. I have bought so many of his albums since then and I just love the style of the sound and production.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1964) is a children's book by Welsh author Roald Dahl. This story of the adventures of young Charlie Bucket inside the chocolate factory of eccentric candymaker Willy Wonka, and is often considered one of the most beloved children's stories of the 20th century.
