Ride became an obsession of mine after I saw them perform Drive Blind on some BBC music show (was it Transmission?)
I was lucky enough to catch them live at a small pub in Dunstable where they blew me away. It had been a long time since any band had done that (I think the Clash were the band before that)
I suspect this was a gig before they 'broke', unfortunately I couldn't see much being a short arse but the sound ... that lovely sound
I saw them after that in Oxford when the Good Ole Boys (a motley crew if ever I saw one) got a van together and blasted down the A40 drunkenly singing their heads off, I couldn't understand why everyone seemed to be sitting down though, or was that somewhere else?
